Dr. Karp is a geriatric psychiatrist at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. His research focuses on older adults with treatment resistant depression and depression comorbid with medical conditions. Dr. Karp directs the UPMC Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry and serves as Medical Director for Psychiatry for the Division of Pain Medicine at UPMC.
